Brentford on the outskirts of Ealing marks the start of the M4 corridor, previously known as the Golden Mile, it was so called due to the concentration of industry along this short stretch of road. The River Brent runs through this area and it is conveniently close to the River Thames leading up to Kew and Richmond. In recent years there have been numerous new housing developments in this area, which has led to a regeneration and an increase in local businesses and restaurants.
It is also home to Brentford Football Club and is a short distance to the historic house and gardens of Syon Park.
